Stalwarts Youth Literacy Initiative
The fundamental goal of the Stalwarts Youth organization is to promote the development of literary initiatives and opportunities for our children. The Literacy Initiative has a host of programs that enable writers to explore and expand their literary interests. In addition to the fundamentals of writing and self-discovery, several workshops are hosted by professional authors, who will mentor our young writers throughout the writing process. There are opportunities for young writers to discover the mechanisms involved in the process of getting their works published. In addition, Stalwarts has partnered with several community stakeholders, to ensure that our program participants maintain and have resources to "pay it forward" by contributing to the broader community.
Young Entrepreneur Stewardship (YES) Program
The Young Entrepreneur Stewardship, or YES
Program is Stalwarts effort to pair, aspiring business leaders and owners, with success organizations throughout the community. This is more than an internship; it is an opportunity for our Stalwarts to work in lock-step with business leaders, learning the ins and outs of their organization, its industry practices, as well as, the challenges and successes of being a business owner or executive. Participants will submit their interests to the organization, along with the details of what they intend to gain from the experience. Participants will then be paired and gain first-hand knowledge within the field. Periodic information and mentorship sessions will be held to ensure that the program is effective and relevant to the Stalwarts mission. For those participants who qualify, there will be an opportunity to actually launch their own business, through the program.
